Cypress Glen is home to approximately 300 seniors and employs approximately 250 staff members. The community culture is one of inclusion, warmth, and mutual respect for both residents and staff. SUMMARY Assist Supervisors in care and management of the unit by following established policies and procedures of this facility. Supervises staff nurses and ensures that quality care is provided to residents per policy and regulations. Makes observations, documents, orders supplies and equipment. Carries out instructions of supervisors. Acts as liaison between residents, family members, sponsors and nursing personnel. Must deal with the public, visitors, and residents tactfully. Must handle emergencies, give emergency care and give emergency instructions.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Assist Management in monitoring and directing medical care to residents on the skilled unit. Make routine checks on residents, ensures the staff nurses and nursing assistants are documenting all care and pertinent information regarding the care of the residents Assures that all physician orders are carried out in accordance with the nurse's scope of practice Review resident care plans and information sheets for accuracy Assure that all pertinent information is on residents' charts Assist with admissions, discharges and the transfer of residents in accordance with physicians' orders Be knowledgeable of the MDS process, forms and documentation requirements; assist as needed with MDS completion Be knowledgeable of the LTC survey process, ensure regulations as well as facility policy and procedures are followed Review resident care, recommend and implement changes when necessary Participate in in-service and orientation programs on a monthly basis Review physician orders and ensure accuracy of MAR's and TAR's, etc. Assist in developing resident care plans for residents with the ADON, Director of Nursing and other staff members Requisition supplies, equipment, linens, etc. from central supply as needed Ensure that staff notify the attending physician and family are notified when the resident becomes ill, is injured, or has any condition change Notify the physician of automatic stop order on specific medications Assist staff nurses in monitoring CNA's daily care record for accuracy and completeness Monitor treatment record, ensure treatments are completed as ordered by physician The Unit Manager must be a licensed Registered Nurse in NC with three years of experience as a registered nurse. Must have and maintain CPR certification. This is an exempt position working Monday - Friday 40 hours per week.
