Job Description
Position Summary The Clinical Nurse Manager is responsible for overseeing daily clinical operations at CCHC New Bern Internal Medicine Specialists, a busy outpatient, multispecialty practice. This leadership role ensures the delivery of high-quality, patient-centered care while maintaining efficient workflows, regulatory compliance, and a collaborative team environment. The Clinical Nurse Manager serves as a key liaison between providers, clinical staff, and administrative leadership. Key Responsibilities Clinical Operations Oversee day-to-day clinical workflow and patient care activities Ensure compliance with federal, state, and organizational policies and standards Monitor quality metrics and implement process improvements Support providers in delivering evidence-based, patient-centered care Maintain readiness for audits and regulatory reviews Leadership & Staff Development Supervise and mentor clinical staff (RNs, LPNs, CMAs, and clinical support team members) Participate in recruitment, hiring, onboarding, and performance evaluations Promote accountability, teamwork, and professional growth Provide coaching and corrective action when needed Foster a culture of respect, collaboration, and service excellence Quality & Compliance Ensure adherence to infection control, OSHA, HIPAA, and safety protocols Monitor clinical documentation standards within the EMR Assist with quality initiatives and performance improvement projects Track and review incident reports and implement corrective measures Patient Experience Promote exceptional patient service and timely access to care Address patient concerns related to clinical services Support care coordination across multispecialty services Administrative Responsibilities Assist with budgeting and supply management Manage staffing schedules to ensure adequate coverage Collaborate with practice leadership on operational planning Participate in leadership meetings and strategic initiatives Qualifications Education & Licensure Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of North Carolina Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred Current BLS certification required Experience Minimum 3-5 years of clinical nursing experience Prior supervisory or leadership experience preferred Experience in outpatient or multispecialty clinic setting strongly preferred Skills & Competencies Strong leadership and interpersonal skills Excellent organizational and time-management abilities Knowledge of outpatient regulatory requirements Proficiency with electronic medical records Ability to problem-solve and manage multiple priorities Physical & Work Requirements Primarily clinic-based role in a fast-paced outpatient setting Ability to stand, walk, and assist patients as needed Must be available outside regular hours when operational needs require
