MAJOR DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

• Overall management/leadership of department operational goals.
• Screen patients coming into unit, insurance verification, mentoring of staff, competency of staff, safe discharge plans.
• The director must demonstrate competence to participate in interdisciplinary formulation of individual treatment plans, to give skilled nursing care and therapy, and to direct, monitor and evaluation nursing care delivered.

The Director of Psychiatric Nursing Services must have a Masters in psychiatric or mental health nursing, or its equivalent, through education or experience.
