30ECONTEXT OF THE JOB
Under the supervision of Director of Clinical Operations and External Relations and in coordination with the Graduate Program Director and Specialty track coordinators, the Clinical Coordinator utilizes knowledge of the Delaware Healthcare community to facilitate clinical placements needed to provide appropriate experiences to meet the clinical objectives of the Graduate programs. The Clinical Coordinator will secure the clinical sites, ensure affiliation agreements are in place for clinical placement, ensure that clinical faculty and students are in compliance with all clinical requirements for their respective clinical placements, and ensure that clinical courses are staffed with the number of qualified clinical instructors needed. This position will also participate in the department's graduate recruiting program including managing recruitment events, fairs and corresponding with prospective graduate students throughout the inquiry, admissions, and matriculation processes.MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
Forecast, secure and assign students in the graduate program to preceptor, clinical rotation, and field experience clinical placements in collaboration with the Director of Clinical Operations and External Relations, in coordination with the specialty track coordinators, Graduate Program Director and faculty. Engage with outside agencies to build and maintain relationships for placement of nursing students in a variety of clinical settings and attend meetings as required. Assure clinical placement documentation sent to placement agencies as required or requested. Oversee the completion and monitoring of the nursing students' clinical mandatory requirements as indicated by the School of Nursing and clinical agencies for clinical placement. Participate in the department's graduate recruiting program including managing recruitment events, fairs and corresponding with prospective graduate students throughout the inquiry, admissions, and matriculation processes. Respond to telephone/email inquiries and provide initial/general information. Complete agency reporting for the graduate programs. Support newly admitted graduate students until faculty mentors are identified while consulting with the specialty track coordinators, and Graduate Program Director. Monitor student progress to ensure successful completion of practicum hours and practicum experiences set by the program in alignment with respective accreditation standards. Track required forms and course completion, reporting practicum hours and mandatory clinical requirements to the respective specialty track coordinators. Communicate graduate program clinical updates to SON website administrator; monitor and update yearly in consultation with Director of Graduate programs and specialty track coordinators, following UD communications best practices and policies, and in coordination with the CHS communications team. In consultation with the Director of the Graduate Programs, liaise with representatives of the Graduate College regarding graduate student policies. Assist with maintaining marketing initiatives. Support recruitment efforts to attract qualified applicant pools. Participate in on-site/off-site graduate recruitment events. Support post-graduation surveys and maintain post graduate statistics. Perform other job-related duties as assigned.QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree with three years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience in a nursing, healthcare and/or higher education field preferred. Ability to develop, plan, and implement short-and long-range goals. Ability to make independent decisions and judgments in keeping with the level of the position. Ability to plan, prioritize, balance, and review a variety of projects that must be completed simultaneously and on time. Ability to communicate and interact with people of all ages and diverse backgrounds and to maintain a positive and collaborative work environment. Ability to use in word processing, spreadsheet, database, and presentation software.
