Full Job Description Who We Are :
The Lennard Clinic exists to enrich the quality of life of opioid dependent adults in Essex and Union counties and surrounding counties to reduce illicit drug use, decrease criminal activities, enhance health conditions and promote social/economic stabilities by providing superior treatment services. Certified by Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services (SAMSHA), licensed by the New Jersey Department of Human Services and accredited as an opioid treatment provider by the Commission of Accreditation for Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF), TLC offers a full range of services. As a recognized leader offering services to treat opioid dependence, The Lennard Clinic is a model for the state. We treat each patient with respect and dignity and provide an outcome-driven and fully integrated continuum of care that addresses the diverse needs of our patients. The Lennard Clinic has been servicing these counties for more than 35 years and is looking for qualified candidates interested in the behavioral health field to provide individual and group counseling services in an outpatient Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT) facility.
Job Summary:
The RN Charge Nurse, reporting to the Director of Nursing, plays a key leadership role in delivering high-quality patient care and supporting organizational goals. This position is responsible for overseeing daily nursing operations, ensuring excellent customer service, and fostering a collaborative, team-oriented environment. The RN Charge Nurse provides direct patient care, administers medications in accordance with physician orders, and ensures compliance with all clinical standards. Additionally, the role includes the accurate dispensing and documentation of methadone and suboxone for outpatient clients, in strict adherence to state and federal regulations. Participation in performance improvement initiatives and a strong commitment to teamwork and patient-centered care are essential to success in this role.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
∙ Ensure that nursing staff operates in accordance with
CARF, NJ
Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services (DMHAS) licensure, and DEA standards. Coordinate and integrate nursing services with the other patient care services within the organization to ensure continuity of care for each patient. Ensure that the nursing staff complies with required nursing department standards. Participate in staff medical education activities. Ensure all new nurses receive the required orientation and training upon hire. Participate in team conferences with the multidisciplinary team, and the client care committee(s). Interview applicants and provide close supervision for newly hired nurses at all two (2) sites. Ensure that new employees and tri-annual employee physicals are completed in accordance with policies and procedures. Accurately administers client medications/treatments per physician order and in accordance with clinic policy and procedure. Not limited to methadone/suboxone. Observe client's physical appearance and general well-being during each interaction and refer to clinical and medical teams as required. Administer medication to clients daily as prescribed by the doctor in a professional manner and with the highest customer service. Manage medication order renewals as prescribed by the doctor(s). Complete thorough nurses quarterly progress notes outlining observations and discussion with clients on appearance, sobriety, weight gain or loss, medication efficacy, etc. Ensure clients have annual physicals completed as required. Record all client infractions in accordance with company policy and notify the client's counselor. Attend client disciplinary meetings per infraction report as needed. Manage all client dosing inclusive of any off-site medication such as nursing homes and/or guest dosing as per company policy. Prepare take-home bottles for nursing homes, guest dosing, incentive events, holidays, etc. as needed. Accurately dispenses and records methadone/suboxone per federal regulations to include counting and recording Controlled Substances with two medical/nursing personnel. Ensure surplus medication is not in excess and is tracked daily.. Must adhere to all procedures referable to accounting for medication dispensed to patients and reporting any deviations from dispensing and medication accountability procedures immediately to the Head Nurse, Director of Nursing (DON), and provider, completing all appropriate reports in its time frame. Reconcile all medication at the end of the day and notify the Director of Nursing and Charge Nurse of any errors that may have occurred via email. Create incident reports for any medication spills and/or any other diversion issues the same day of the incident. Ensure destruction of identified medication (surplus) is completed in accordance with companies' destruction policy. Manage medication inventory in accordance with all company policies, DEA codes and state agency administrative regulations. Maintain a clean work area that is properly stocked to safely administer MAT. This shall include but not limited to maintaining inventory and supplies at each location, bottle labeling to ensure enough supply for next day and notifying administration and supervisors of issues and hazards. Maintain the integrity of the clinical area by adhering to safety procedures and regulations and reporting any issues with medical equipment and give notification to the Head Nurse/ Designee. Responsible for maintaining current Licenses and CPR certifications. Copies must be given to Human Resources, and DON, ensure the documents are posted in the dispensing station. Ensures adherence to Infection Control practices. Complete admission intakes as required. Adhere and participate in all corporate compliance requirements. Attend all department and organization meetings as required. Attend all training as required.
Qualifications:
Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. BSN preferred but not required. Licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the State of New Jersey. Have at least one year of experience in nursing supervision or nursing administration in the management of addictions in a licensed substance use disorder treatment facility. Have a minimum of three (3) years of direct substance abuse treatment experience. Knowledge of
DEA 42 CFR
