Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Charge Nurse to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in nursing with experience in various clinical settings. As a Charge Nurse, you will be responsible for overseeing patient care, managing nursing staff, and ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations. Your leadership will be vital in providing high-quality care to our patients while fostering a supportive environment for your team. Qualifications Current RN license in New Jersey BSN required 1+ year of supervisory/ managerial experience Current BLS certification Car and valid NJ driver's license
Working Conditions/Physical Demand:
Working indoors Duties Oversee and coordinate daily nursing services for adult daycare participants, including health monitoring, medication administration, and individualized care planning. Monitor participant vital signs and chronic condition symptoms (e.g., blood pressure, glucose levels, cognitive status), and respond to non-emergent health changes. Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, maintaining accurate records and ensuring compliance with state regulations and safety protocols. Supervise and guide certified nursing assistants and aides, providing direction on care routines, hygiene practices, and participant interaction. Communicate with participants' families, caregivers, and physicians to share updates on health status and coordinate any required follow-up. Document daily care activities, health assessments, medication logs, and incidents in electronic or paper records per regulatory standards. Lead infection control and hygiene protocols across the facility, ensuring compliance with public health guidelines and internal procedures. Participate in multidisciplinary staff meetings to review participant care strategies, address concerns, and implement improvements. Develop and adjust staffing schedules to maintain adequate nurse aide coverage throughout all hours of operation, including coverage for absences. Provide basic emergency care during acute episodes or participant falls, and coordinate external medical support when needed. Experience Candidates should possess the following qualifications: Critical care experience. Familiarity with EMR systems such as Epic, Cerner, or eClinicalWorks. Experience in long-term care, assisted living, or geriatrics is beneficial. Knowledge of ICD-9 and ICD-10 coding systems. Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or behavioral health issues is a plus. Lead and manage the nursing department, including RNs, LPNs, and CNAs. Develop, implement, and monitor policies and procedures that uphold clinical excellence. Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. Oversee resident care plans, quality measures, and clinical outcomes. Recruit, train, and mentor nursing staff to foster professional growth and retention. Collaborate with the Administrator, medical staff, and interdisciplinary teams to enhance resident experience. Drive quality assurance and performance improvement initiatives. Previous supervisory or nurse management experience preferred. Familiarity with acute care settings, including hospital medicine and emergency medicine (Preferred).
