Carson City Womens Services Unit Full Time Summary Responsible for assisting in the leadership, coordination and supervision of the specified unit(s). Primary duties include functional responsibility of the daily operations. The supervisor will coordinate the activities of the nursing staff, and ancillary staff. Upholds standards set forth by the hospital and departments. The supervisor will plan, direct and evaluate total nursing care. Practices within the scope prescribed by the Nevada Nurse Practice Act.
Qualifications Required:
Current and unencumbered licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) through the Nevada State Board of Nursing. Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) for healthcare providers Minimum two (2) years of clinical nursing, in an acute care facility. Minimum one (1) year at the
Charge RN/Relief Charge RN/Shift Lead/Team Lead Unit Specific:
Women's & Children's Required:
Current American Heart Association (AHA) Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification. Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification or NRP instructor certification
S.T.A.B.L.E.
Program certification within six (6) months of hire or position entry AWHONN Advanced Fetal Monitoring OR National Certification Corporation (NCC) Certified Electronic Fetal Monitoring (C-EFM) within three (3) years of hire or position entry and renewed every three (3) years thereafter. Essential Functions Completes and adjusts department assignments so that care is delivered in a timely, cost-effective and clinically efficacious manner. Completes workflow schedules to meet patient care needs and budget, monitors workflow, and adjusts assignments to assure optimum workflow. Assures that the department and equipment are maintained to promote optimum workflow. Encourages cost-effectiveness with material and human resources by role modeling, teaching and coaching behavior in others. Maintains productivity by assuring staff are doing appropriate functions and that assignments are logical. Provides feedback for staff performance in a timely fashion within human resources guidelines. Promotes effective communication through body language, verbal, written, and listening skills. Proactively anticipates needs and problems before they occur and develops a reasonable action plan to make course corrections that reduce the likelihood of problems going unattended. Functions in the Registered Nurse job description as needed by the department and could be up to 50 percent of scheduled time. Performs other related duties as assigned.
