- Full-time We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Clinical Nurse Manager to lead our Inpatient Psychiatric Unit.
This role provides clinical, operational, and administrative leadership to ensure safe, high-quality, patient-centered behavioral health care. The Nurse Manager is responsible for staff performance, regulatory compliance, patient outcomes, and fostering a collaborative, therapeutic care environment. Key Responsibilities Provide 24/7 leadership and accountability for the Inpatient Adult Psychiatric nursing unit Oversee daily operations, staffing, scheduling, and patient flow Ensure delivery of evidence-based, trauma-informed psychiatric nursing care Lead, mentor, and develop nursing staff, including hiring, onboarding, evaluations, and corrective action Collaborate with psychiatrists, social work, therapy, case management, and hospital leadership Monitor quality indicators, patient safety metrics, and regulatory compliance Ensure adherence to hospital policies, Joint Commission standards, and behavioral health regulations Manage unit budget, productivity, and resource utilization Lead performance improvement initiatives and support accreditation readiness Serve as a clinical and operational escalation point for complex patient or staff issues
Requirements:
Current NYS Registered Nurse (RN) license BSN required. MSN in progress Minimum of 2 years of behavioral health nursing experience Minimum of 1 year of nursing management or supervisory experience preferred Strong knowledge of inpatient psychiatric care, safety protocols, and milieu management
Preferred:
Master's degree in Nursing Experience in acute inpatient psychiatric or hospital-based behavioral health settings Demonstrated leadership, communication, and change-management skills
