Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated Registered Nurse - Night Supervisor to lead and oversee patient care operations during overnight shifts. This vital role combines clinical expertise with leadership skills to ensure the delivery of exceptional nursing care in a fast-paced healthcare environment. As a Night Supervisor, you will coordinate nursing activities, supervise staff, and maintain compliance with healthcare standards, all while fostering a positive and safe environment for patients and team members alike. Your expertise will help uphold our commitment to high-quality patient care, safety, and operational excellence around the clock. Duties Supervise and coordinate nursing staff during night shifts, ensuring optimal patient care delivery across departments such as medical-surgical, ICU, emergency medicine, geriatrics, and behavioral health. Oversee patient assessments, vital signs monitoring, medication administration, IV infusion management, catheter care, and basic life support procedures. Ensure accurate medical documentation using electronic health record (EHR) systems like Epic or Cerner while maintaining compliance with HIPAA regulations. Lead clinical rounds to evaluate patient conditions, perform physical examinations, and facilitate diagnostic evaluations including laboratory tests and medical imaging. Manage emergency situations such as airway management, ventilator issues, or acute pain episodes by coordinating immediate response protocols. Supervise incident reporting, infection control practices, and aseptic techniques to uphold safety standards. Support staff development through supervising team management activities, providing mentorship, and ensuring adherence to NCQA standards and other regulatory requirements. Qualifications Valid registered nurse (RN) license with current registration in the relevant state or jurisdiction. Extensive critical care experience including ICU or Level I Trauma Center settings; experience in emergency medicine or hospital medicine is highly desirable. Proficiency with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, Cerner, or Athenahealth; familiarity with
ICD-9/10
coding and CPT coding is a plus. Demonstrated leadership skills with supervising experience in a healthcare setting; ability to manage team dynamics effectively. Strong knowledge of physiology, anatomy, pharmacology, and medical terminology relevant to acute care environments. Experience working with diverse patient populations including geriatrics, pediatrics (PICU), neonatal ventilator management, dementia care or individuals with disabilities. Ability to handle high-pressure situations calmly while making critical decisions quickly; excellent communication skills essential for triage and patient assessment. Certifications in Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), sterile processing techniques or specialized areas like dialysis or spinal tap procedures are advantageous. $93,315.00 - $118,000.00 per year
