Nurse Manager, Emergency Department

Overview We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Nurse Manager of Emergency Services to oversee nursing operations within our healthcare facilities ER. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in ER and some experience in nursing management, with a focus on providing high-quality patient care. This role requires excellent Emergency Department leadership skills, the ability to coordinate discharge planning, and experience in critical care settings. The ED Nurse Manager will play a crucial role in ensuring compliance with infection control protocols and maintaining high standards of patient safety. Responsibilities Lead and manage nursing staff to ensure optimal patient care delivery. Develop and implement policies and procedures related to nursing practices. Oversee discharge planning processes for patients, ensuring smooth transitions of care. Monitor and evaluate the quality of care provided by nursing staff. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to enhance patient outcomes. Maintain compliance with infection control standards and regulations. Provide training and support for staff on the use of Cerner and other medical software systems. Ensure that all staff are trained in basic life support and critical care protocols. Foster a positive work environment that encourages professional development among nursing staff. Qualifications BSN degree and MSN degree is required. We are prepared to meet with a candidate who is currently enrolled in an MSN program and will be graduating in a year. Current New York State Licensed Registered Nurse • Current BLS certification required.
