Clinical Director (RN) -
Ophthalmology ASC Location:
New York State Salary:
$100,000 - $115,000
Schedule:
Full-Time | Day Shift | No Nights/Weekends We are seeking an experienced Clinical Director (RN) to lead daily clinical operations in a fast-paced ophthalmology Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC) . This role focuses on delivering safe, high-quality patient care , leading clinical staff, and ensuring efficient operations across both high- and low-volume surgical days. The Clinical Director reports to the Administrator, who oversees staffing schedules and overall operations.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and supervise clinical staff (RNs, surgical technicians, pre/post-op)
  • Ensure safe, high-quality patient care and positive patient experience
  • Assign daily clinical staff roles and manage OR flow and patient throughput
  • Collaborate effectively with surgeons and anesthesia providers to maintain efficient case flow and care standards
  • Monitor and maintain patient safety, infection control, and clinical best practices
  • Address and resolve patient concerns and grievances in a timely manner
  • Ensure efficient operations, including on-time starts and turnover
  • Maintain appropriate staff utilization, including adjustments based on daily surgical volume
  • Maintain compliance with NYS DOH and accreditation standards
  • Oversee quality assurance and performance improvement initiatives
  • Develop, implement, and revise clinical policies and procedures
  • Oversee staff education, orientation, ongoing competency validation, and annual performance evaluations to ensure compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards
Qualifications:
  • Active NYS RN license (BSN preferred)
  • 3-5+ years leadership experience in an ASC or surgical setting
  • Ophthalmology experience strongly preferred
  • Strong knowledge of patient care standards, clinical operations, and regulatory requirements
Reporting Structure:

$48.00 - $56.00 per hour
