Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY
The Clinical Education Coordinator (LPN) is responsible for supporting employee development and promoting clinical excellence through education, training, and competency-based learning programs. This position plays a key role in fostering a culture of continuous learning, professional growth, regulatory compliance, and quality resident care. The Clinical Education Coordinator serves as a role model for professional nursing practice, assists with staff orientation, coordinates mandatory education programs, and supports organizational initiatives related to employee performance, safety, and workforce development.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Education & Training Assist in the planning, coordination, implementation, and evaluation of orientation programs, in-service education, and mandatory training for employees. Conduct regular staff education sessions related to policies, procedures, regulatory updates, infection prevention, resident care practices, and organizational initiatives. Develop, update, and deliver evidence-based educational materials and training resources. Identify and evaluate instructional materials utilizing a variety of learning methods, media, and formats. Teach assigned clinical and non-clinical content to promote safe, effective, and resident-centered care practices. Orientation & Competencies Participate in new employee general orientation programs. Supervise, coach, and evaluate newly hired LPNs, CNAs, and other direct care staff during orientation and onboarding. Coordinate and maintain annual competency programs for Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs) and other designated staff. Assist department leaders in identifying educational needs and competency gaps among staff. Clinical Quality & Compliance Perform quality assurance audits within the Nursing Department and throughout the organization as assigned. Assist in the development, review, and revision of nursing policies, procedures, and training protocols to ensure regulatory compliance and best practices. Participate in safety rounds, surveys, mock surveys, and performance improvement activities. Support readiness for state, federal, and accreditation surveys. Certifications & Safety Training Provide or coordinate American Heart Association BLS, Heartsaver, CPR, and First Aid training for nursing and non-nursing staff, as certified and authorized. Promote a safe work environment through education, coaching, and adherence to workplace safety standards. Collaboration & Leadership Work collaboratively with Nursing Leadership, department directors, managers, and interdisciplinary teams to support workforce development initiatives. Participate on committees, task forces, and special projects as assigned. Serve as a professional role model and resource to staff in support of organizational values and service excellence. Additional Responsibilities Perform other duties as assigned to meet departmental and organizational needs.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Current Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license in New York, in good standing. Minimum of two (2) years of nursing experience in long-term care, skilled nursing, rehabilitation, or related healthcare setting. Prior staff education, precepting, training, or supervisory experience preferred. Current CPR/BLS Instructor certification preferred or ability to obtain. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Excellent organizational, presentation, and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and basic computer systems. Knowledge of audiovisual equipment and training technology preferred.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Ability to stand, walk, bend, lift, and move throughout the facility as needed. Ability to demonstrate clinical procedures and training techniques. Ability to respond to emergencies and work in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Work is performed in a healthcare setting including classrooms, resident care areas, offices, and throughout the facility. Exposure to clinical environments and communicable diseases may occur.
Pay:
$28.79 - $32.29 per hour
