An RN Nurse Unit Manager is a senior nursing role responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of a nursing unit or department within a healthcare facility. The position blends clinical oversight, leadership, and administrative management to ensure high-quality patient care and operational efficiency.Core Responsibilities Supervision & Staff Management :
Oversee recruitment, hiring, training, evaluation, and retention of nursing staff; mentor less experienced nurses; provide clinical and career guidance.Patient Care Oversight :
Monitor patient care quality, review individual cases, and ensure compliance with care plans, HIPAA, and regulatory standards.Communication & Collaboration :
Serve as a liaison between nursing staff, physicians, residents, families, and upper management; coordinate with interdisciplinary teams.Policy & Procedure Development :
Implement and update unit policies, procedures, and quality assurance programs.Budget & Resource Management :
Develop, manage, and monitor unit budgets; allocate resources effectively.Conflict Resolution & Staff Support :
