Job Description

Overview The Charge Nurse plays a critical role in ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care within a healthcare setting. This position involves overseeing nursing staff, coordinating patient care activities, and serving as a liaison between patients, families, and the healthcare team. The Charge Nurse is responsible for maintaining a safe and efficient environment while promoting best practices in patient care. Responsibilities Supervise and coordinate the activities of nursing staff to ensure optimal patient care. Assess and monitor patients' conditions, providing necessary interventions as required. Administer injections and other medications as prescribed, ensuring adherence to safety protocols. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized patient care plans. Educate patients and their families regarding health management and treatment options. Maintain compliance with HIPAA regulations to protect patient confidentiality. Provide support and guidance to nursing staff, fostering a collaborative work environment. Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes. Ensure proper documentation of patient records in accordance with hospital policies. Skills Strong knowledge of anatomy and physiology relevant to patient care. Experience working with individuals with disabilities, demonstrating compassion and understanding. Proficiency in administering injections and familiarity with laboratory procedures. Background in acute care settings, preferably within a teaching hospital environment. Knowledge of botulinum toxin treatment protocols is a plus. Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with patients, families, and healthcare professionals. Ability to work collaboratively within a team while also demonstrating leadership capabilities. Experience in travel nursing is advantageous but not required. The Charge Nurse position is essential for maintaining high standards of care and ensuring that all patients receive the attention they need for optimal recovery. Candidates should be committed to professional development and possess a passion for delivering exceptional healthcare services.
