Job Description

Overview We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Director of Nurses to lead our nursing team with passion, precision, and a commitment to excellence. In this vital role, you will oversee all nursing operations across multiple care settings, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, compassionate care that meets regulatory standards and exceeds resident expectations. Responsibilities Provide strategic leadership and oversight for nursing service for a long-term care behavioral health facility that will also offer skilled nursing services. Develop, implement, and monitor comprehensive care plans tailored to each resident's needs, ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations including Medicare and HIPAA requirements. Supervise nursing staff management and nurse management activities, including hiring, training, performance evaluations, and shift management to maintain optimal staffing levels. Oversee medical records management using Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems and ensure accurate documentation review for quality assurance and regulatory compliance. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate resident care efforts while maintaining a focus on physiology knowledge, anatomy understanding, and medical terminology accuracy. Ensure adherence to healthcare laws and regulations such as HIPAA privacy rules while safeguarding residents' personal health information. Lead quality improvement initiatives by reviewing documentation, analyzing care outcomes, and implementing best practices in nursing administration. Oversee compliance with Medicare guidelines related to billing, documentation, and care standards for reimbursement purposes. Foster a positive work environment that promotes professional development in areas such as nurse supervision, shift management, and leadership skills. Skills Extensive experience in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, home health services or hospice care environments. Proven management skills with supervising experience in healthcare settings; ability to lead teams effectively. Strong knowledge of nursing administration principles combined with practical expertise in EMR systems and EHR systems for medical records management. Deep understanding of physiology and anatomy to support accurate assessment and care planning. Familiarity with Medicare regulations and documentation requirements for reimbursement purposes. Excellent communication skills for coordinating with residents' families, healthcare providers, and regulatory agencies. Ability to review complex medical documentation accurately while maintaining attention to detail under pressure. Leadership qualities that inspire confidence among staff members; proactive problem-solving abilities in shift management scenarios.
