Director of Nursing (DON) / Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) Position Summary The RN Supervisor is responsible for overseeing nursing staff and ensuring the delivery of high-quality resident care during assigned shifts. This role provides clinical leadership, supports compliance with regulatory standards, coordinates resident care, and serves as a resource for nursing personnel, residents, families, and interdisciplinary team members. Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesClinical Leadership Supervise and support nursing staff, including RNs, LPNs, and CNAs. Monitor resident care to ensure quality standards are maintained. Assess resident conditions and respond to changes in health status. Provide guidance and clinical expertise to staff regarding resident care issues. Participate in admissions, transfers, and discharges as needed. Staff Management Assign duties and coordinate staffing assignments. Mentor, coach, and evaluate nursing personnel. Assist with staff orientation and training programs. Address performance concerns and report issues to nursing leadership. Ensure adequate staffing levels are maintained throughout the shift. Regulatory Compliance Ensure compliance with federal, state, and facility regulations. Maintain accurate and timely documentation. Participate in surveys, audits, and quality assurance initiatives. Monitor infection control practices and safety procedures. Communication & Coordination Collaborate with physicians, therapists, social workers, and other healthcare professionals. Communicate resident concerns and updates to families as appropriate. Participate in care plan meetings and interdisciplinary team discussions. Serve as the nursing leader on assigned shifts. Administrative Responsibilities Complete shift reports and documentation. Review incident reports and follow-up as necessary. Monitor medication administration practices. Assist with scheduling and staffing adjustments when needed. Qualifications Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing. Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience required. Long-term care, skilled nursing, or rehabilitation experience preferred. Previous supervisory or leadership experience preferred. Current CPR certification. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills. Knowledge of long-term care regulations and standards. Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Proficiency with electronic medical records (EMR) systems. Physical Requirements Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 50 pounds as needed. Ability to respond quickly to resident emergencies. Ability to work extended hours, weekends, holidays, and on-call schedules as required. Work Schedule Full-Time / Part-Time Day, Evening, or Night Shift Rotating weekends and holidays as required
Salary Range:
Competitive and based on experience, education, and licensure.
Pay:
$44.00 - $49.00 per hour
