The Sitter under the supervision of the Nurse Manager/Charge Nurse/Staff RN or LPN provides for patient safety at all times in accordance with the facility's established policies and procedures. The sitter provides for close observation and may provide assistance with simple activities of daily living under the direction of a nurse based on patients' needs appropriate to age and developmental level and diagnosis. The sitter does not replace the need for direct nursing care or care by a patient care technician. Demonstrates cooperation, flexibility, and resourcefulness when dealing with patients, visitors, physicians, and hospital personnel.
