Job Description

www.gihealthcare.com The Endoscopy Center is an outpatient ambulatory surgery center which specializes in colon cancer screening as well as a number of other endoscopic procedures. Our registered nurses work in the preoperative and postoperative area and are responsible for preparing patients for procedures and recovering patients when their procedures are completed. We utilize RNs in all of our locations and on occasion they will be trained to work in the procedure rooms as well. We are seeking a full-time Charge Nurse who can foster a positive and collaborative team environment while demonstrating strong leadership, critical thinking, decision-making and communication skills. This position will be completed Mon-Fri at approximately 40 hours per week. Ability to effectively present information, respond to questions and concerns, and professionally interact with team members, physicians, patients, and management Operates as a pre-op or post-op nurse daily and oversees nursing activities, assist in maintaining efficient workflows to prevent patient injuries Works collaboratively with Center Supervisor on the supervision and direction of nursing care and patient scheduling according to center policy Reviews and adjust scheduling assignments each morning as needed based on daily activity i.e. staff call outs, MD schedules, and patient volume Monitors FTE and PRN utilization and makes recommendations to promote cost effective scheduling practices along with the TEC Supervisor Assist with informative orientation programs for new clinical employees Observes and evaluates the performance of all clinical personnel and works continuously to improve the quality of care and services - collaboratively with the TEC Supervisor Works collaboratively with TEC supervisor to promote adherence to all center policies and procedures Perform other miscellaneous duties as assigned by Supervisor or Director. A detailed job description with addition duties and expectations will be shared with selected candidates during the interview process. 1 year minimum of charge nurse or leadership experience required Maintains current Tennessee Registered Nurse license Maintain current ACLS and BLS certification (obtains within 6 months of employment in The Endoscopy Center)
