In this vital role, you will oversee the planning, implementation, and supervision of nutritional programs tailored to meet the needs of diverse populations in assisted living, acute care, or long-term care settings. Your leadership will ensure compliance with health regulation policies, maintain food safety standards, and foster a positive environment focused on delivering exceptional nutritional care. This position offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact on residents' health and well-being through innovative dietary management. Responsibilities Develop and oversee individualized care plans that incorporate clinical nutrition principles, physiology knowledge, and patient assessment data to promote optimal health outcomes. Manage the dietary department's daily operations, including supervising staff, coordinating meal services, and ensuring adherence to food safety management protocols. Conduct diagnostic evaluations and monitor tube feeding procedures to ensure proper nutrition delivery for patients with specialized needs. Utilize EMR/EHR systems for accurate electronic health records (EHR) management, documenting care plans, progress notes, and nutritional assessments efficiently. Ensure compliance with all health regulation policies by implementing best practices in food safety management and maintaining rigorous sanitation standards. Lead team management efforts by supervising dietitians, kitchen staff, and support personnel; provide leadership in training, performance evaluations, and professional development. Collaborate with healthcare teams to perform patient assessments, participate in care planning meetings, and support health coaching initiatives aimed at improving overall wellness. Experience Proven experience in dietary management within assisted living or acute care environments is highly preferred. Demonstrated supervising experience with team management responsibilities in a dietary or healthcare setting. Strong knowledge of health regulation policies related to food safety, nutrition standards, and clinical nutrition practices. Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems for managing electronic health records effectively. Experience with tube feeding procedures, diagnostic evaluation processes, and care plan development is advantageous. Knowledge of physiology and nutrition science to support patient assessment and tailored dietary interventions. Previous involvement in budgeting for dietary departments along with food safety management practices is desirable.
Qualifications:
Experience as a Dietary Supervisor in a Skilled Nursing Facility and/ or long-term care preferred Meets State requirements for food service managers or dietary managers in States that have such established requirements.
