Overview Join our dynamic healthcare team as a Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) - Charge Nurse, where your expertise will lead and coordinate patient care in a fast-paced, compassionate environment. As a vital member of our clinical staff, you will oversee daily nursing operations, ensure high-quality patient care, and support the health and safety of our diverse patient population. Responsibilities Lead and coordinate nursing staff to deliver comprehensive patient care across various departments, including acute care, long-term care, and specialty units such as memory care or hospice. Conduct thorough patient assessments, vital signs monitoring, and physical examinations to inform treatment plans. Administer medications and injections accurately following established protocols, including IV infusions and catheterizations. Utilize electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Epic, Cerner, or Athenahealth for documentation, medical records management, and compliance with HIPAA regulations. Perform specialized procedures like airway management, tube feeding, venipuncture, and sterile processing techniques with precision and aseptic technique. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams on discharge planning, case management, and diagnostic evaluations to optimize patient outcomes. Provide mentorship and supervision to nursing staff while ensuring adherence to safety standards such as infection control and NCQA standards. Qualifications Valid licensure as a Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) with current state certification. Demonstrated experience in critical care settings such as ICU or Level I Trauma Centers is highly desirable. Proficiency with EMR/EHR systems including Epic, Cerner, or Athenahealth; experience with
ICD-9/ICD-10
coding is preferred. Strong knowledge of physiology, anatomy, pharmacology, and medical terminology relevant to diverse clinical environments. Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or dementia-related conditions like Alzheimer's disease or memory care needs. Skilled in patient assessment techniques including vital signs measurement, diagnostic evaluation, and medication administration. Ability to handle emergency situations efficiently with excellent airway management skills and acute pain management expertise. Excellent communication skills for triage assessments, patient education, and interdisciplinary collaboration.
