Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and compassionate Charge Nurse to lead our nursing team during the early morning and evening shifts. This full-time and PRN (as needed) position offers an exciting opportunity to oversee patient care, coordinate clinical operations, and ensure the highest standards of safety and quality. The Charge Nurse will serve as a vital leader within our healthcare facility, fostering a collaborative environment that promotes excellent patient outcomes. Ideal candidates will bring a strong background in hospital medicine, emergency care, and diverse clinical settings, demonstrating exceptional leadership, clinical expertise, and a passion for patient-centered care. Responsibilities Provide clinical supervision and support to nursing staff across various departments including medical-surgical, emergency room, ICU (Intensive Care Unit), PICU (Pediatric Intensive Care Unit), and outpatient clinics. Oversee patient assessments, vital signs monitoring, and medical documentation to ensure accurate and timely records in EMR (Electronic Medical Records) and EHR (Electronic Health Records) systems. Coordinate patient care plans, medication administration, IV insertions, injection administration, and venipuncture procedures while adhering to HIPAA regulations for patient privacy. Lead emergency response efforts by applying physiology knowledge, trauma protocols (including Level I and Level II trauma center standards), and infectious disease care procedures. Facilitate effective communication among multidisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes in inpatient, outpatient, post-acute, sub-acute, and clinic settings. Ensure compliance with healthcare policies regarding medical terminology, medical records management, and safety protocols. Mentor nursing staff on best practices for patient care, medical-surgical procedures, anatomy knowledge, and vital signs assessment while promoting professional development. Skills Extensive experience in Level II trauma centers; familiarity with Level I trauma center operations is highly preferred. Proven expertise in hospital medicine, emergency medicine, urgent care environments, and geriatrics. Strong background in emergency room experience with skills in trauma response and critical care management. Proficiency with EMR/EHR systems for accurate documentation of patient information and medical records. Skilled in IV insertion, medication administration, injection techniques, venipuncture, and vital signs measurement. Deep understanding of medical terminology, physiology, anatomy knowledge, and patient assessment techniques. Ability to lead effectively under pressure while maintaining attention to detail in fast-paced clinical settings such as OR (Operating Room) or urgent care clinics. Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to ensure confidentiality of all patient information. Excellent communication skills for collaborating with healthcare teams across inpatient and outpatient services.
