Job Description

Position Summary:
Responsible for managing nursing staff, coordinating patient care, performs routine technical nursing duties, and ensures the smooth operation of the department. This role involves supervising, directing, and supporting nursing staff, while providing direct patient care as needed. The Charge Nurse serves as a liaison between the nursing staff, medical staff, patients and families. Works under the direction of the Chief Medical Officer and supervision of Director of Nursing.
Requirements Required:
Graduate from a State approved School of Vocational Nursing or higher, with current Certification or Registration Licensed to practice in Texas. A minimum of five years of clinical experience is required. A minimum of two years of experience in a management or supervisory position. Experience in scheduling, managing, and mentoring staff. Knowledge of medical terminology, acceptable medical abbreviations, and medical Instructions/education. Proficient in electronic health records (EHR) and other healthcare technologies. Ability to work flexible hours or change schedule as necessary.
Qualifications Required:
Bilingual preferred. Excellent leadership, communication, interpersonal abilities, and organizational skills. Ability to prioritize projects and strong problem-solving skills. Effectively and efficiently manages time, efforts, and workload. Efficient in all Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, etc.) Excellent written, verbal, and listening skills.
