Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and experienced RN/LVN to lead and coordinate nursing care within our healthcare facility. In this pivotal role, you will oversee clinical operations, support nursing staff, and ensure the delivery of exceptional patient care across diverse departments. Your leadership will foster a collaborative environment, uphold compliance with healthcare standards, and drive continuous improvement in patient outcomes. This position offers an exciting opportunity for a motivated nurse with extensive clinical expertise to make a meaningful impact on patient well-being and team performance. Duties Provide direct supervision and mentorship to nursing staff, ensuring adherence to clinical protocols and best practices. Coordinate patient care activities across units, including medical-surgical, ICU, emergency medicine, and specialty areas such as ophthalmology, cardiology, and geriatrics. Oversee patient assessments, vital signs monitoring, medication administration, IV infusions, wound suturing, and aseptic techniques to maintain high standards of safety and quality. Facilitate communication between multidisciplinary teams, including physicians, therapists, case managers, and support staff to optimize patient outcomes. Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements such as
HIPAA, NCQA
standards, ICD coding (ICD-9/10), and documentation accuracy in electronic health records (EHR systems). Lead emergency response efforts in critical situations like trauma incidents or acute pain management scenarios; coordinate triage and urgent care procedures. Participate in discharge planning, long-term care coordination including assisted living or hospice services, and support patients with complex needs such as dementia or developmental disabilities. Skills Extensive clinical experience in acute care settings such as hospital medicine, ICU (Level I & II Trauma Center experience), emergency room (ER) experience, or critical care transport. Proficiency with EMR/EHR systems including Epic, Cerner, Athenahealth or eClinicalWorks for accurate medical documentation. Strong knowledge of medical terminology, physiology, anatomy, diagnostic evaluation techniques like sonography or laboratory testing. Skilled in advanced procedures including catheterization (cardiac or urinary), tube feeding management, ventilator operation, ostomy care, and sterile processing techniques. Expertise in pain management strategies such as acute pain control and palliative medicine; familiarity with Workers' Compensation law is a plus. Ability to perform physical examinations, venipuncture (phlebotomy), IV insertion/injection administration, suturing skills and aseptic technique adherence. Experience working with diverse patient populations including pediatrics (neonatal ventilator), geriatrics (memory & dementia care), behavioral health patients or those with developmental disabilities. Strong leadership qualities with excellent communication skills to guide teams effectively while maintaining compliance with HIPAA regulations and other healthcare standards.
