$7,532.75•$8,886.16/month About the Role The Texas Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) is seeking a Nurse III / House Supervisor to oversee campus-wide nursing operations at the Waco Center for Youth. This leadership role ensures high-quality patient care, supports nursing staff, and maintains compliance with healthcare regulations. This position is ideal for a Registered Nurse who thrives in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment and is passionate about improving mental health outcomes for youth. What Youll Do Leadership & Operations Oversee daily nursing operations across the facility Conduct hospital rounds to ensure compliance with policies and quality standards Monitor and maintain safe, therapeutic environments for patients and staff Serve as the on-site clinical and administrative resource Staffing & Team Support Develop and manage nursing staffing plans Reassign staff as needed to maintain required coverage Provide leadership, guidance, and training to nursing staff Step in as a Clinical RN when needed Patient Care & Admissions Support patient assessments, care, and monitoring Coordinate admissions, including triage and placement Collaborate with external providers, law enforcement, and mental health authorities Compliance & Quality Improvement Ensure adherence to regulatory standards (Joint Commission, CMS, Texas Board of Nursing, etc.) Conduct audits, chart reviews, and investigations Identify areas for improvement and implement action plans Communication & Coordination Report incidents and key updates to executive nursing leadership Serve as liaison for external agencies (e.g., investigators, regulators) Coordinate visits, interviews, and information requests Emergency Response Serve as Incident Commander during after-hours emergencies Lead disaster response and drills Provide direction and support during crisis situations Required Qualifications Education & Experience Graduate of an accredited nursing program Minimum 3 years of RN experience in a healthcare setting Licensure Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Texas (or compact state) Other Requirements Valid Texas drivers license (or ability to obtain within 90 days) Ability to work flexible hours, including overtime if needed Key Skills & Abilities Strong leadership and team supervision Knowledge of mental health care regulations and nursing standards Critical thinking and problem-solving Effective communication with diverse teams Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment Experience with electronic health records Work Environment
