Waterview Health & Rehab is seeking a strong, accountable Registered Nurse (RN) to step into the role of Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON). This is a hands-on leadership position for a nurse who is confident in clinical decision-making, committed to quality outcomes, and ready to support and lead a team in a skilled nursing environment. This role is not just administrative—it requires visibility on the floor, support of staff, and active involvement in clinical operations, wound care management, and regulatory readiness. This role also serves as the facility wound care nurse, providing oversight and management of wound care practices and outcomes. Key Responsibilities Support daily clinical operations and provide leadership presence on the units Supervise and guide nursing staff to ensure safe, compliant, and effective care delivery Oversee and manage the facility wound care program, including assessments, treatments, and documentation Monitor wound healing progress and collaborate with providers and interdisciplinary teams Ensure compliance with wound care protocols and regulatory standards Monitor and improve clinical documentation and care practices Participate in audits, QAA, and performance improvement initiatives Assist with staff development, coaching, and accountability Maintain survey readiness and support the facility during survey processes Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to improve resident outcomes Communicate clearly with staff, residents, families, and leadership Assist with staffing coordination and clinical oversight as needed Step into leadership responsibilities in the absence of the Director of Nursing What We're Looking For Active RN license in Virginia Minimum 3 years of nursing experience Long-term care or skilled nursing experience preferred Experience with wound care management strongly preferred Prior leadership or supervisory experience strongly preferred Strong clinical judgment and understanding of regulatory standards Ability to lead by example and hold staff accountable Organized, proactive, and able to manage multiple priorities Work Environment Skilled Nursing Facility / Rehabilitation Center Fast-paced, team-oriented setting Requires flexibility, including occasional overtime or on-call support Why This Role Matters This position plays a key role in shaping the clinical environment, supporting staff performance, and ensuring residents receive consistent, high-quality care.
