Job Description:

The Nurse Manager, Operating Room is a Registered Professional Nurse who acts as a clinical leader in the daily function of a unit and provides oversight of quality patient care delivery, in conjunction with, or in the absence of, a Department Director. In this role, the Nurse Manager plans, organizes, schedules, monitors and leads the work of individuals and groups to attain desired results. This position selects and develops staff to promote a healthy work environment. The Nurse Manager facilitates Centra's organizational and nursing strategic plan, maintains quality and safe patient care, promotes a service-oriented environment and functions within budgetary guidelines. The Nurse Manager integrates the tenets of the Professional Practice Model in the operations of their unit. The Nurse Manager's practice reflects the American Nurses Association's (ANA) Code of Ethics for Nurses, the ANA Scope of Standards for Nurse Administrators and the Nurse Practice Act of Virginia. The Nurse Manager maintains 24-hour accountability for their unit.

Requirements:

Education:

o Graduate of School of Nursing o Must have BSN or BS and MSN •

Work Experience:

o Two (2) years of nursing experience o Previous Charge Nurse or other Leadership experience •

Licenses & Certifications:
