Job Description

at The University of Vermont Medical Center in South Burlington, Vermont, United States Job Description External candidates are eligible for a one-time signing bonus of $30,000. The bonus will be paid out as a $10,000 gross pay adjustment in the first paycheck following the completion of a successful 90-day orientation; the second installment of $10,000 will be paid upon completion of one year of service; the third installment of $10,000 will be paid upon completion of two years of service in the department hired into. Amounts reflect gross pay, prior to applicable tax withholdings and deductions required by law.
JOB DESCRIPTION
The Renal Nurse Supervisor provides support to the Nurse Manager and Director of Renal Services in the development, implementation and management of the outpatient, dialysis clinics. This position provides day to day leadership and direction to clinical staff and is responsible for ensuring an adequate staffing plan, facilitating team building and fostering professional relationships among staff. This position is also responsible for ensuring adequate resources are available to staff in the performance of their job responsibilities, monitoring adherence to defined processes and policies relating to the department and providing appropriate feedback and guidance to staff not performing as expected. The position facilitates and provides oversight to the orientation of new staff. This position performs annual performance evaluations according to UVM Medical Center Policy. In addition, to the leadership and management responsibilities, this position may also be required to provide direct patient care to maintain clinical skills and knowledge. External candidates are eligible for a one-time sign-on bonus of $30,000 (prorated for part-time roles).A relocation package of $8,200 (prorated for part-time roles) is also available for relocation applicants. Please note that current University of Vermont Health Network employees are excluded from eligibility for this bonus. Additional terms and conditions apply.
EDUCATION
Current RN licensure or compact licensure recognized by the State of Vermont required. The University of Vermont Medical Center is moving toward an all Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) workforce. All external candidates hired into, or current employees promoted to, a RN position will be required to obtain their BSN as outlined in the terms of their offer letter. Current internal RNs are strongly encouraged to pursue a BSN to support this initiative.
EXPERIENCE
