Job Description
This is a 9-month position. Applicants must have a high school diploma or GED, Bachelor's Degree preferred but not required. Experience in quantity food production and service is desirable. This position will involve lifting.

Child Nutrition Assistant ManagerQUALIFICATIONS
: Bachelor's Degree, preferred, or High School graduate or equivalent and completion of Comprehension Assessment Tests. Good physical and emotional health including ability to perform duties described in essential functions. Effective interpersonal communication skills. Current ServSafe Certification. Pass Post Offer Skills Assessment. Child Nutrition Program Managerial Experience preferred. Must meet background clearance requirements as specified by Alabama statutes and State Board of Education regulations.SALARY LEVEL

: Salary and benefits shall be paid consistent with the system's approved compensation plan. Length of the year and hours of employment shall be those established by the system.REQUIRED DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
: Assists the manager with training and supervising all new employees. Assists in preparation, service, cleaning and storage of food. Follows work schedule and work assignments made by the manager. Practices acceptable health habits and work habits which are in keeping with current health guidelines. Participates in in-service programs as assigned. Maintains a positive, friendly attitude in all job relationships. Records food used on meal preparation. Exhibits or attains skill in the operation of all available equipment. Sets up, uses, cleans, and stores equipment safely according to established guidelines. Assists in washing dishes, trays, and flatware, using power dish washing equipment. Assists in washing pots, pans, and utensils using three compartment sink procedures established by Health Department. Assists in cleaning dining area. Assists in unpacking supplies, stocking dry storage, refrigerator, and freezer shelves. Wears clean clothing and shoes required for Child Nutrition Program employees. Assumes managerial duties when the manager is absent. Assists manager with duties related to operating the Child Nutrition Program. Assists with inventory of food and supplies as directed. Assists in maintaining cooler, freezer, and storage areas in an orderly and sanitary condition. Assists in receiving deliveries and checks against purchase orders, using established procedures. Maintains a high level of ethical behavior and confidentiality of information about students, personnel, and all job related behaviors.KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES
:EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or general education degree (GED). Work experience in quantity food production and service is desirable.LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence correctly. Ability to speak correctly.MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide, and measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.REASONING ABILITY
Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.PHYSICAL DEMANDS
