Job Description

At NorthBay Health the Nutrition Associate I maintains state and federally mandated standards of safety and cleanliness while performing tasks that include but are not limited to: hot & cold food preparation; sanitation of kitchen facilities and equipment, tray-line meal assembly, delivery & retrieval; stocking patient nourishment rooms, other patient care areas & physician lounge; retail & catering food preparation, set-up & service; cash register operation; receiving, inventory & stocking of food & supplies; and assuring therapeutic diet & allergen accuracy in the delivery of service. PRIMARY JOB DUTIES
Demonstrates current knowledge of hospital and department policies and procedures. Maintains excellent communication and interpersonal relationships with patients, visitors, physicians, fellow employees and management as outlined in NorthBay Way. Maintains a good record of attendance and punctuality by reporting to work as scheduled, utilizing the Kronos time card system as instructed, and not exceeding departmental limits contained in the policies and procedures. Follows all hospital and departmental safety policies to prevent injuries and exposures. Meets or exceeds all organizational standards for Joint Commission, CMS, CDPH, Local Department of Health and Environmental Safety agencies.
Education:
High school graduate preferred.
Licensure/Certification:
Current Safe Food Handler's certificate required
Experience:
One-year food service experience, within the last 3 years, with hot and cold food production and customer service required. Healthcare or institutional food service food service preferred. Knowledge of sanitation, safety and infection control procedures
Interpersonal Skills:
Must meet high customer service expectations, and demonstrate the NorthBay Way with all staff, patients, visitors, physicians, volunteers and contractors.
