Job Description

Lynbrook Restorative Therapy & Nursing has an opportunity for a Diet Tech to join their team! The Clinical Dietetic Technician provides food and nutrition services to residents under the supervision of the Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN). Excellent benefits! Health Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance Paid time off 401k Primary Responsibilities Conduct nutrition screenings. Participate in the Nutrition Care Process (NCP) as directed by the Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN), including nutrition assessment activities. Develop and implement nutrition interventions and plans of care by: Documenting medical, food, and nutrition-related data. Providing individualized and group nutrition education. Monitoring residents' intake of meals, snacks, and medical foods. Contributing to evaluation of resident progress and recommending revisions to care plans when indicated. Participate in interdisciplinary care plan meetings and represent the RDN when appropriate. Complete assigned Minimum Data Set (MDS) documentation and Resident Assessment Protocol (RAP) summaries. Monitor the quality and accuracy of food served to residents. Participate in Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement (QAPI) activities as assigned. Maintain professional competency and continuing development of skills required for practice. Meet productivity standards and demonstrate effective time management and task prioritization. Use department resources responsibly and efficiently. Answer telephones and communicate diet changes, meal changes, complaints, food allergies, and patient discharges to kitchen staff and/or the Food Service Director (FSD). Participate in food service tray-line production and ensure meal tray accuracy. Under the supervision of the dietitian, assist with training and orienting new employees to department procedures, tray-line operations, and diet office functions. Assist patients/residents with completing special selective menus. Assist with menu development and planning.
Requirements:
Licensed Diet Tech or bachelor's degree in Dietetics or Food and Nutrition Working knowledge of Diet tech, a plus Job type: Full-Time including weekends
Salary:
$28/hr
