Job Information Exemption Status:
Non-Exempt A Brief Overview Under the general supervision of the Nutritional Services Manager, Department Director, and/or the Clinical Dietitians, supervises and coordinates the morning and evening activities of assigned staff preparing for and serving foods to the Medical Center patients, and Meals on Wheels Clients. Experience Qualifications 1 year Nutritional services experience. Required Satisfactory Completion of Servsafe Food Protection Program within 6 months of hire and maintained thereafter. Required Cash register experience. Required Supervisor experience. Preferred What you will do Knowledgeable in all aspects of patient feeding, including, but not limited to, controlled diets, tube feedings, and nourishments; ordering/inventory, food production. Working knowledge of the dish room, and be able to fill a position in a staffing crisis. Observe and instruct appropriate staff to ensure adherence to established standards. Instruct and provide training to staff in all aspects of food service, including safe food handling and sanitation, and will assist with new employee departmental orientation. Organize daily operational duties and utilize employees in a cost-effective manner. Regularly inspect machinery and equipment to ensure that proper working order is maintained. Knowledgeable in ordering area supplies, and using proper procedures for equipment repair. Keep abreast of new techniques in planning and implementing special holiday promotions, and seasonal menu planning for the patients' enjoyment. Perform any and all duties in the department as required by staffing problems, and possess basic knowledge of all other areas of the Nutritional Service Department.
