Job Goal:
The Child Nutrition Food Service Employee is expected to perform a variety of duties for the smooth daily operation of the cafeteria.
Qualifications:
Education/Certification:
High school diploma or GED (required) Be willing to obtain a Valid Food Managers Certificate, if neededBe willing to obtain a Food Handlers card from local
County Health DepartmentExperience:
A minimum of 6 months of school food service experience in a variety of positions
Performance Responsibilities:
Always provide the highest quality of service to the customer Ability to set-up stations with breads, condiments, and utensils Ability to serve and replenish food from counters and serving areas and breaking down stations at the end of the meal period, condiments, etc. Ensure that all necessary production is taking place and quality is at prescribed levels. Ensure all equipment is cleaned at the end of the meal periodEnsure that both food and equipment temperatures are taken at the correct times and recorded properly in the HACCP log Must be well versed in sanitation standards and must follow all PCS regulatory rules and procedures Follow TDA guidelines and regulations Must ensure that all necessary paperwork is completed: paperwork required by TDA, production records, inventories, HACCP logs, time sheets, workers comp. etc. Order, stock and rotate government commodities, and prepare perpetual inventory Receive and check-in deliveries from vendors for accuracy in amounts and quantities Cooperate with other managers in emergency situations to facilitate supply requests as needed Communicate well with vendors and maintenance workers Must be able to ensure a safe workplace and that safe work practices or taking place When kitchen is used by clubs or organizations, provide necessary support, and store all equipment and supplies in non-accessible areas Act as the primary liaison between the cafeteria and the school administration Perform other kitchen duties as needed
Physical Effort and Work Environment:
Maintain emotional control under stress Capable of frequent standing, walking, pushing and pulling; moderate lifting and carrying 40 lbs.; some stooping, bending and kneeling; moderate exposure to extreme hot and cold temperaturesMust be able to tolerate dustGood vision, hearing, clear speech, manual dexterity, and good sense of smell around food or in smoke emergenciesCan be reassigned to another campus as neededEquipment to be used knives, can opener, warmer, slicer, mixer, stove, and oven
