Location:
Seattle, WA 98126
Compensation:
$28-$34 per hour DOE|
Part-Time Schedule:
Varied, however most days will be 8a-5p. Total of 24-32 hrs/week. Job Summary Are you passionate about nutrition and making a real difference in people's lives? As a Diet Tech , you'll play a vital role in supporting our nutrition team to deliver exceptional care and wellness to our residents. In this dynamic position, you'll collaborate with registered dietitians, healthcare professionals, and kitchen staff to ensure that every meal meets the highest standards of health, safety, and satisfaction. What You'll Do Interview residents to determine dietary requirements and record plans in medical charts using precise medical terminology. Support dietitians in assessing and documenting resident nutrition needs. Monitor and ensure compliance with prescribed and medically restricted diets. Educate residents and families on dietary guidelines and optimal nutritional intake. Determine WIC eligibility by identifying risk factors. Assist with menu planning and food service operations. Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure accurate meal preparation. Maintain records of dietary intake and interventions. Conduct research and create PowerPoint presentations for wellness programs. Uphold food safety and sanitation standards. Other duties as assigned What You Will Bring Associate's degree in Dietetics, Nutrition, or related field (or equivalent experience) Accredited Diet Technician program and DTR credential preferred Knowledge of nutrition, therapeutic diets, and food safety Healthcare, food service, or community nutrition experience preferred Accurate dietary documentation using medical terminology Strong communication and interpersonal skills Proficient with Microsoft Office and electronic health records Organized, detail-oriented, and able to educate patients/families Flexibility to work varied shifts, including weekends/holidays Ability to pass a criminal background check and drug screen ServSafe® Certification and State Food Handler Card Physical and Sensory Requirements This job involves regular exposure to moving mechanical parts and a kitchen environment with fumes, airborne particles, and moderate noise. Employees must have the physical stamina to stand for long periods, lift trays, and perform repetitive tasks.
