Job Description

Category Schools - OT Job Type Contract Embark on a rewarding contract opportunity supporting students in an engaging school environment near Wasilla, AK. You'll deliver essential Occupational Therapy services in-person throughout the school year, helping students achieve their fullest potential. This on-site role focuses on providing hands-on support, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, and tailoring interventions to meet individual student needs.
Qualifications and Requirements:
Hold a valid Occupational Therapist license in Alaska (AK licensure required). Possess or be eligible for TYPE C Certification. Strong preference for candidates who are AK-certified. Previous school-based experience is a plus, with skills to work with diverse student populations. Commitment to providing approximately 1,000 minutes of direct student contact weekly (about 16 hours). Comfortable working strictly onsite—in-person therapy only, as virtual/VOCO options are not considered. Exceptional communication and collaboration skills, enabling positive interactions with students, families, and educators.
Key Responsibilities:
Evaluate and assess students' occupational therapy needs within the school setting. Develop and implement individualized treatment plans to improve students' functional skills. Deliver therapy sessions consistent with IEP goals, maintaining detailed documentation for each student. Consult and partner with teachers, staff, and families on student progress and strategies to foster inclusion. Participate in IEP meetings and provide recommendations for assistive technology or classroom modifications. Support up to 37.5 hours per week across a diverse caseload, fostering an inclusive, supportive environment.
