Job Description

Overview Join our dynamic healthcare team as a Pediatric Occupational Therapist, where you will play a vital role in improving the lives of children with diverse developmental needs. In this energetic and rewarding position, you will assess, plan, and implement tailored therapy interventions that foster independence and enhance quality of life for pediatric patients. Your expertise will support children across various settings, including outpatient clinics, schools, inpatient units, and home health environments. This role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful difference while working with a collaborative and passionate team dedicated to pediatric care excellence. Responsibilities Conduct comprehensive evaluations of pediatric patients to identify their unique occupational therapy needs, including assessments related to ADLs (Activities of Daily Living) and motor skills. Develop individualized care plans that align with each child's developmental stage, medical condition, and family goals. Implement therapeutic interventions aimed at improving fine motor skills, sensory processing, self-care abilities, and overall functional independence. Assist children with disabilities—including those with autism spectrum disorder—by providing specialized strategies to support communication, social participation, and daily routines. Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams such as speech therapists, physiotherapists, educators, and medical staff to ensure cohesive patient care. Support discharge planning by preparing families and caregivers with home programs, adaptive equipment recommendations, and community resources. Document patient progress meticulously in compliance with healthcare regulations and maintain accurate case management records. Skills Strong knowledge of physiology, anatomy, and medical terminology relevant to pediatric health conditions. Experience working in various settings such as outpatient clinics, inpatient units (including ICU environments), skilled nursing facilities, early intervention programs, or school-based services. Proficiency in assisting with ADLs and implementing strategies for patients across the lifespan—from early childhood to geriatrics—when applicable. Familiarity with post-acute care processes and home health services for pediatric populations. Ability to develop effective care plans tailored to individual needs while managing caseloads efficiently. Excellent communication skills to educate families on therapy goals and progress updates clearly and compassionately.
