Job Description
Glenwood, Inc. is a progressive multi-site agency that provides a full range of services for children and adults with autism and other mental health needs. We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as an Occupational Therapist . We are looking for a candidate who is motivated to provide best practices and who can work autonomously. Excellent communication skills are essential for collaborating with other professionals in the field, including speech-language pathologists, behavior analysts, and care staff.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
Work collaboratively with agency professionals to ensure that individuals served on assigned caseload are provided the highest quality occupational therapy services available Complies with Code of Ethics and demonstrates respect and regard for the dignity of all clients, families, visitors, and fellow employees to ensure a professional, responsible, and courteous environment. Administers a comprehensive assessment of individual's occupational therapy strengths/deficits. Provides direct OT intervention for those individuals determined to be appropriate for services. Documents individual's treatment in a manner consistent with agency requirements. Individualizes treatment needs related to autism and other mental health needs. Fulfills professional development requirements and other assignments.KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
2+ year(s) of experience in mental health, behavioral health, or related field. Knowledge of Autism, Emotional Disturbance, and other Developmental Disabilities Master's degree in Occupational Therapy Licensed Occupational Therapist in the State of Alabama Current AL driver's license and must be insurable through Glenwood's contracting insurer. Certification in agency provided training in 1st Aid, CPR, MCS (Managing Crisis Safely)ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
