Job Description

Category Schools - OT Job Type Contract Step into a rewarding contract opportunity supporting students from Pre-K through 8th grade for the academic year, starting the week of August 17, 2026, and ending the week of May 28, 2027. This role is ideal for a dedicated Occupational Therapist eager to make a difference, working three days a week, with approximately 19.5 hours weekly. You'll serve a diverse caseload of around 19 students, helping them develop essential life and learning skills to thrive in a school setting.
Qualifications & Skills:
Valid Occupational Therapy license in California Previous experience working in school-based OT, preferably with PK-8th grade children Understanding of IEP development and implementation Strong skills in assessment, treatment planning, and documentation Ability to adapt therapy approaches to meet individual student needs Excellent organizational, time management, and interpersonal abilities Capacity for teamwork and effective communication with educators, families, and fellow therapists
Primary Responsibilities:
Conduct thorough evaluations of students' needs and develop individualized treatment plans Provide direct OT services in both individual and group settings, according to IEP goals Collaborate with teachers and support staff to integrate therapy into classroom routines Keep detailed records of progress, interventions, and student outcomes Educate staff and families about strategies to support students' progress at school and home Attend IEP meetings and contribute professionally to the student support team This opportunity offers a flexible part-time schedule, allowing you to maintain work-life balance while fostering meaningful relationships with students, staff, and families.
