Job Description

Category Therapy - Hospital - OT Job Type Contract Deliver specialized occupational therapy services at an outpatient hospital setting in Ridgecrest, CA. This contract role involves comprehensive patient evaluation, development, implementation, and modification of treatment plans aligned with patient needs, goals, and physician directives.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct thorough patient evaluations and design functional treatment programs to facilitate effective community reintegration. Delegate and oversee discipline-specific therapy services for assigned patients. Educate patients, families, students, and coworkers as part of professional development and quality care. Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation including goal setting, quality indicator assessments, letters of medical necessity, and charge entry. Ensure all care is provided under valid physician orders and complies with insurance and regulatory requirements. Participate in student education programs, fostering a positive learning environment with proper supervision. Uphold professional standards in alignment with the State Practice Act, organizational Code of Conduct, and ethical guidelines. Engage proactively in professional development, continuing education, and organizational performance improvement initiatives. Advocate and practice safety protocols in patient care and workplace environment, emphasizing safe patient handling, materials handling, infection control, and hazard reporting.
Desired Qualifications:
Valid OT licensure in good standing and adherence to continuing education mandates. Strong clinical reasoning and documentation skills. Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team. Commitment to patient and employee safety. Experience with outpatient occupational therapy preferred.
