Provides supervision for therapy aides/assistants and students with specific patients or tasks as appropriate. Provides continuous consultation and education to families. The Occupational Therapist I is an entry level position in a Career Advancement Program (CAP). This position on the pediatric hand therapy team is responsible for providing specialized evaluation and treatment of upper extremity conditions across several settings, including burn clinic, inpatient, and outpatient hand clinic.

Shift:
Monday - Friday Duties & Responsibilities Collaborates with the family, physicians, schools, and other providers to ensure continuum of care for the child and optimal clinical services. Completes written documentation in accordance with department standards for format, location, and time frames. Independently evaluates children from birth to 21 years of age, with a variety of diagnosis, in specialized programs, on inpatient and/or outpatient units. Incorporates principles of cultural-competence and family-centered care into clinical services. Assists in achieving departmental financial budget targets. Demonstrates leadership and participates in systematic, planned professional development to improve the clinical, educational, research, and advocacy goals of the department and hospital. Provides consultation and education to families. Treat children with a variety of diagnoses, and in specialized programs on inpatient and outpatient units. Incorporates principles of cultural-competence and family-centered care into clinical services. Seeks out appropriate mentoring/training and consults with relative Clinical Practice Specialist and/or assigned mentor for complex patient diagnoses.
Minimum Qualifications Degrees Bachelor of Science Area of Study Occupational Therapy Experience Required:
None.
Preferred:
Experience in hand and upper extremity conditions/injuries required. Experience or strong interest in burn rehabilitation required. CHT is preferred but not required. Equivalency Not Applicable Licenses & Certifications Occupational Therapist Registered National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy; Credentialing must be completed by the Medical Staff Office (MSO) within 3 months of employment Additional Requirements License required after hire Credentialing must be completed by the Medical Staff Office (MSO) within 3 months of employment Salary Information Pay is dependent on applicant's relevant experience. Annual Salary Range (Based on 40 hours worked per week): $78,659.24 to $117,988.86 Benefits Information Here, you matter.
