Job Description
Hubbard North is hiring at its new campus in Rocky Hill, a suburb of Hartford, Connecticut. We are a State Approved Private Special Needs School for children with Autism and related neurological differences, and we are looking for enthusiastic Occupational Therapists who want to work with special needs students. We are building out a state-of-the-art sensory gym for the new school site and are seeking enthusiastic, dedicated, and motivated OTs who can provide high-quality services to our students. Responsibilities include:
Conduct ongoing assessments in coordination with the instructional team to determine what/if any sensory processing issues are interfering with learning Design programs to address identified sensory issues Develop, enter into SEDS and implement goals and objectives in the areas of fine and gross motor skills, visual motor integration, daily living skills and sensory integration taking into account parent needs Develop strategies to address sensory issues that can be used by all professionals who work with student Make recommendations around needed equipment to assist each student or the school as a whole Provide staff support and training Share research- based interventions with instructional staff and BCBA's Attend PPT's and Team Meetings, presenting data and information in a method easily understood by parents Communicate with parents and provide training and support when needed Home visits upon request Complete progress reports and IEP codes based on data in a timely fashion Support and Train COTA's as requestedJob Type:
