Job Description

Category Schools - OT Job Type Contract Make a significant impact by supporting students and families as an Occupational Therapist in a dynamic school-based role. This contract position is situated near New Castle, DE, and concentrates on fostering students' growth and independence across a variety of settings. There's also the exciting potential for a need in the Non-School Year (NSY) period, offering expanded opportunities to make a difference year-round! Ideal candidates will feel at ease working as part of a collaborative educational team, enjoy the variety of both school-based and home health environments, and bring a passion for enhancing students' abilities and daily life skills.
Qualifications:
Licensed Occupational Therapist with credentials valid in Delaware Experience working in school-based settings is highly desirable Background in home health or healthcare-related OT is a strong advantage Ability to adapt interventions to individual student needs and environments Effective communicator with students, families, and multidisciplinary teams Flexible approach to shifting assignments and evolving caseload needs
Key Responsibilities:
Assess students' functional and developmental abilities within classroom and home settings Develop and implement individualized OT intervention plans aligned with IEP goals Collaborate with teachers, special educators, counselors, and families to promote student success Support transitions between in-school and home-based services as needed Document sessions, progress, and outcomes in compliance with school and state standards Participate in meetings and ongoing training to maintain best practices in therapy
