Job Description

Category Schools - OT Job Type Contract Step into a rewarding school-based opportunity as an onsite Occupational Therapist in a welcoming educational setting near New Castle, DE. This is a full-time contract role (37.5 hours per week) ideal for someone enthusiastic about supporting student success, especially in an ASD classroom environment. Help students gain confidence and vital life skills through direct hands-on therapy and collaborative support.
Key Qualifications and Experience:
Valid Occupational Therapist license for the state or eligibility to obtain one Previous experience in school settings strongly preferred Skilled in providing occupational therapy in ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder) classrooms Proficient in conducting evaluations, assessments, and developing IEPs Experience with direct therapy for school-aged children Excellent communication skills for collaborating with teachers, staff, and families Strong organizational skills for managing multiple caseloads and documentation
Primary Responsibilities:
Deliver direct occupational therapy interventions to students as outlined in their IEPs Conduct assessments and evaluations to identify student needs and progress Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to design and update IEP goals Provide input and strategies for classroom teachers to support children with ASD Maintain accurate records, data, and progress reports as required Engage in ongoing communication with parents and caregivers Foster an inclusive and supportive classroom environment, enhancing students' academic and functional abilities Perks of this
