Job Description

Category Schools - OT Job Type Contract Make a real difference in students' lives as an onsite Occupational Therapist with a full-time contract opportunity located near Newark, DE. This is a rewarding position within a vibrant school setting, where your expertise will ensure students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) receive the support they need to succeed academically and develop essential life skills. In this dynamic school-based role, you will provide direct occupational therapy services, contribute to Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), and conduct thorough student evaluations and assessments. Working primarily with an ASD classroom, your interventions will foster improved motor skills, participation, and independence, empowering students to reach their fullest potential.
Qualifications and Experience:
Master's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program Active OT state licensure (or eligibility) Previous experience in a school setting strongly preferred Familiarity with IEP development and documentation Comfort working directly with students with autism and diverse learning needs Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
Responsibilities:
Deliver individualized direct therapy to students based on their IEPs Conduct assessments and evaluations to determine students' unique needs Collaborate with teachers, special educators, and families to support classroom participation Maintain timely and thorough documentation of therapy sessions, progress, and assessment results Assist in creating and monitoring effective, goal-oriented interventions for the ASD classroom Participate in IEP meetings and contribute occupational therapy expertise
