Job Description

Category Schools - OT Job Type Contract Step into a dynamic educational setting near Newark, DE as a contract Occupational Therapist, providing essential services in an engaging onsite school environment. You'll work closely with students, faculty, and families to empower children's learning and daily success, primarily within an ASD classroom. This full-time opportunity (37.5 hours weekly) offers a chance to make a meaningful difference while applying your expertise and creativity every day.
Qualifications & Desired Experience:
Master's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program Active state licensure (or eligibility) Prior school-based OT experience, especially with ASD populations, is highly valued Strong background in conducting evaluations, delivering direct therapy, developing implementation plans, and participating in IEP processes Exceptional communication, collaboration, and time-management skills Ability to thrive in a multidisciplinary educational team
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct thorough assessments and develop individualized treatment interventions for students Deliver direct therapy services to meet IEP goals, focusing on fostering students' independence and participation Document evaluations, treatment, and progress according to school requirements and legal regulations Participate in IEP meetings, collaborating with teachers, special education staff, and parents to support student success Provide support and adaptive strategies within the ASD classroom, tailoring approaches to diverse learning and sensory needs Consult with staff and provide training or resources for optimal classroom environment and student engagement Fulfill your passion for pediatric Occupational Therapy in a supportive school environment with ample opportunities to collaborate, create, and inspire.
