This Joint Commission certified Primary Stroke Center also features a certified Ventricular Assist Device program, an American College of Cardiology-accredited Chest Pain Center, and an American College of Surgeons Commission on Cancer-accredited Comprehensive Community Cancer Program. The hospital provides a wide range of services including emergency care, cardiovascular services, neurosciences, robotic surgery, orthopedics, spine care, bariatrics, behavioral health, and obstetrics. The Occupational Therapist is responsible for managing the full occupational therapy care process for an assigned patient caseload while working closely with physicians and the interdisciplinary care team. This role involves conducting comprehensive patient evaluations, supporting the development of individualized treatment plans, and delivering skilled therapeutic interventions that promote functional independence and improved quality of life. The therapist monitors patient progress, documents responses to treatment, and communicates relevant updates and payer requirements to physicians, care teams, and family members. Additional responsibilities include caseload prioritization, coordination of daily staffing needs, and ensuring smooth patient transitions across the continuum of care.
Responsibilities:
Perform comprehensive occupational therapy evaluations for assigned patients. Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on patient needs and goals. Deliver skilled interventions to improve functional performance and independence. Monitor, document, and evaluate patient responses to therapy and changes in condition. Communicate clinical updates and payer requirements to physicians, care teams, and family members. Prioritize caseload and coordinate staffing assignments and patient handoffs. Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to support continuity of care. Maintain compliance with clinical standards, ethical guidelines, and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree required. Current Registered Occupational Therapist (ROT) credential required. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 30 days of hire. Strong clinical reasoning, communication, and organizational skills. Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary acute care environment.
