Job Description

Category Schools - Orientation and Mobility Specialist Job Type Contract Step into a meaningful contract opportunity as an Orientation and Mobility Specialist, supporting K-12 students at various campuses near Deltona, FL. This specialized role is on-site only and welcomes highly skilled travel professionals—a fantastic chance to make a noticeable impact through direct therapy and compensatory services as part of a dedicated educational team. You'll collaborate closely with students, families, and school staff, providing expert O&M assessments and instruction. The assignment includes participating in summer camps at both high school and elementary locations, ensuring students receive exceptional mobility and orientation support year-round.
Key Qualifications:
Valid National Orientation and Mobility (O&M) Licensure Vision certification required Experience working with school-aged children (K-12), preferably in a school setting Willingness and ability to travel locally between campuses as assigned Time-sensitive credentialing: physical driver's license, social security card, professional license (hard copy), fingerprinting (Form 1403 and Field Print receipt), demographic form, and I9 completion Strong communication and organizational skills
Responsibilities:
Deliver direct orientation and mobility services for compensatory needs and conduct evaluations as required Serve students from kindergarten through 12th grade, adapting services to varying age groups and abilities Support summer camp programming: elementary and high school sessions, Monday-Thursday hours Maintain detailed documentation of sessions and student progress Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams for holistic student care
