In this vital role, you will assess, plan, and implement personalized therapy programs to help individuals of all ages improve their daily functioning and quality of life. Whether working in inpatient hospitals, outpatient clinics, schools, or home health settings, you will play a key part in promoting independence and well-being through expert therapeutic interventions. Your energy and expertise will empower patients to achieve their goals and regain confidence in their daily activities. Responsibilities Conduct comprehensive evaluations of patients' physical, cognitive, and emotional abilities to develop tailored treatment plans. Assist patients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), such as dressing, grooming, and mobility, fostering independence. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate care plans, discharge strategies, and post-acute care services. Work with diverse populations including individuals with autism, disabilities, geriatrics, pediatrics, and those in acute or inpatient care settings. Implement therapeutic interventions across various environments including hospitals, skilled nursing facilities, outpatient clinics, schools, and home health. Provide education to patients and families on therapy goals, adaptive techniques, and safety measures. Maintain accurate documentation of patient progress, treatment outcomes, and case management records in compliance with healthcare standards. Requirements Valid licensure or certification as an Occupational Therapist in the relevant jurisdiction. Proven experience working with individuals with disabilities across multiple settings such as inpatient hospital units, outpatient clinics, or schools. Strong knowledge of physiology, anatomy, medical terminology, and patient care principles. Experience assisting with ADLs and discharge planning for diverse populations including pediatrics, geriatrics, and those with autism or other developmental conditions. Familiarity with acute care environments like ICU or inpatient units; ICU experience is highly valued. Ability to develop effective care plans and case management strategies tailored to individual needs. Excellent communication skills for collaborating with healthcare teams and educating patients and families effectively.
