Job Description

Category Schools - Orientation and Mobility Specialist Job Type Contract Step into a meaningful opportunity as a skilled Orientation and Mobility Specialist working with K-12 students. This on-site contract role offers the chance to impact lives across various campuses, from elementary to high school. You'll support compensatory services, deliver hands-on therapy, and perform evaluations as needed, primarily focusing on direct student interaction. The contract covers the next academic year and includes participation in engaging summer camps. Travel professionals are encouraged to apply!
Desired Experience and Qualifications:
National certification as an Orientation and Mobility Specialist (O&M / OMS) Vision certification required Previous experience working with K-12 populations preferred Current driver's license and Social Security card Able to provide physical copies of all professional certifications Willingness to fulfill fingerprinting requirements via Field Print Ability to complete onboarding documentation (I-9, demographic forms) Adaptability to serve multiple locations and deliver services throughout Oviedo and Sanford area campuses
Key Responsibilities:
Directly provide O&M services to students in grades K-12, with a primary focus on compensatory therapy Conduct evaluations and assessments when appropriate Collaborate with educators and other specialists for student success Adapt and plan for both school-year and summer programming Maintain accurate case records and follow compliance protocols
