Overview:
A Pediatric Occupational Therapist (OTR/L) at Lively Therapy provides leadership in delivering and directing high-quality sensory, motor, and functional skills therapy for children. Along with completing evaluations and individualized treatment, the OTR/L supervises Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants in line with Florida licensure rules and professional standards. This role ensures ethical, evidence-based, and family-centered care across the clinic while supporting each child's development, independence, and daily success.
Primary Responsibilities Evaluation & Treatment:
Provide skilled, evidence-based occupational therapy evaluation and intervention for pediatric clients. Ensure all COTA-delivered services follow established treatment plans, clinical reasoning, and professional standards that support each child's sensory, motor, and functional goals. Supervision of COTA(s): Develop and monitor individualized supervision plans in line with Florida licensure rules. Provide direct and indirect supervision based on COTA experience and client needs. Review and co-sign COTA documentation, progress updates, and billing when required. Offer clear feedback and mentorship to support COTA growth, accuracy, and accountability.
Collaboration & Teamwork:
Work closely with other therapists, administrative staff, and families to ensure coordinated, family-centered care. Participate in team meetings and interdisciplinary collaboration.
Clinic-Specific Responsibilities:
Model professional communication and uphold Lively Therapy's values of compassion, collaboration, and excellence. Maintain regular communication with the Clinical Director and administrative team regarding COTA performance, scheduling, and client care. Support a positive and cohesive team culture where mentorship and professional development are encouraged.
Documentation & Compliance:
Maintain accurate documentation of supervision activities while ensuring all evaluation, treatment, and supervision records meet payer, NBCOT, Florida Board of OT Practice, and clinic standards.
Quality Assurance:
Promote high clinical standards by reviewing treatment outcomes, supporting continued professional learning, and encouraging adherence to ethical, evidence-based, and procedural guidelines for both OTR/Ls and COTAs.
Professional Standards:
Adhere to NBCOT's Code of Ethics and the Florida Department of Health supervision requirements for COTAs.

Provide supervision that meets or exceeds
FL DOH/NBCOT
minimum frequency and intensity standards.

Ensure that all services delivered under supervision are safe, effective, and within the scope of practice for each COTA. Maintain confidentiality, professionalism, and compliance with clinic policies at all times. Qualifications
  • Doctorate or Master's Degree in Occupational Therapy
  • Valid Florida
DOH OTR/L
license & current NBCOT certification
  • Minimum of 2 years of pediatric clinical experience preferred
  • Strong background in sensory processing, motor development, and functional skill acquisition
  • Commitment to evidence-based, neurodiverse affirming, child-centered, and family-centered care
  • Demonstrated leadership, mentoring, collaboration, and communication skills
  • Ability to balance direct treatment with supervision responsibilities
  • Meets Florida Board of OT Practice supervision requirements for COTAs
  • Flexible, organized, positive, and committed to ongoing professional growth
Job Type:
Full-time Salary Range:
$70,000
