THE SCHOOL BOARD OF HIGHLANDS COUNTY
POSITION TITLE:
Occupational Therapist
ASSIGNMENT
Occupational Therapist
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's Degree from an accredited educational institution as determined by the Florida Department of Education Licensed by the State of Florida as an Occupational Therapist
Physical Requirements:
Light Work:
Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 10 pounds of force as frequently as needed to move objects Satisfactory clearance of a criminal history records check and drug screening
ADDITIONAL DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Master's degree from an accredited educational institution as determined by the Florida Department of Education
PRIMARY PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES
To provide an individually planned program of educationally relevant therapy for students receiving Exceptional Student Education Services To conduct functional assessments in the classroom setting To work effectively and collaboratively with other educational team members in developing integrated Individual Educational Plans for students To participate and meet with the Individual Educational Plan (IEP) Team Maintain and prepare periodic records as required As an itinerant school therapist, develop a therapy schedule and manage time effectively Manage materials and equipment effectively Assist in the preparation of annual departmental budget Attend meetings and workshops to enhance professional development and continuing education when assigned by the administrators of Exceptional Student Education Maintain and prepare reports needed for the Medicaid reimbursement program
ADDITIONAL DUTIES
All other duties as assigned by supervising administrator
TERM:
Length of contract and number of hours worked are determined by specific allocation as approved annually during planning-budgeting process
APPRAISAL
Performance will be appraised annually in accordance with School Board Policy
PAYGRADE
According to the School Board of Highlands County Instructional Salary Schedule
